Two new instructors and two additional aeroplanes are now available for flight training at Cowra Aero Club.
Lyn Gray is teaching General Aviation flying in a Piper Warrior, and Jenny Ganderton, Recreational Aviation in a Jabiru. Both ladies already have local trainees learning to fly.
Lyn has recently moved to Gooloogong from Sydney, where she was a senior instructor with Clamback and Hennessy at Bankstown Airport. She is now the senior instructor of a new CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) approved training facility at Cowra, and has the use of a Piper Warrior aircraft for General Aviation Training. Lyn is able to teach pilots right from the start through to commercial and instrument ratings, and of course can perform a qualified pilot’s biennial flight review. She has access to a multi engine aircraft if pilots require training in this area. It is a long time since there has been such a highly qualified flying instructor in Cowra, and we are very privileged to have Lyn working here.
The Warrior is also available for hire by suitably qualified Aero Club members after a satisfactory check flight with Lyn.
Lyn is not only a very experienced professional instructor, but has had a fascinating career in aviation, including numerous crossings of the Pacific in light aircraft. She is willing to give talks to groups about aviation, including high school students who may be considering an aviation career. When there is a demand, Lyn will run General Aviation Theory courses too.
Jenny Ganderton is a Cowra resident, who until recently was working full time as a professional gliding instructor at Lake Keepit Soaring Club near Tamworth. She started flying many years ago in hang gliders, competing in international competitions and attaining some hang gliding records. She later took up flying conventional gliders (Sailplanes) and then recreational aircraft and finally general aviation aircraft. She has now added a recreational aviation instructor’s rating to her repertoire and has joined the team of Bruce Braithwaite (CFI) and Phil Goard as a senior instructor at the Cowra and District Aero Club. She has made her Jabiru aircraft available for training, and for hire by suitably qualified club members after a check flight.
Both Lyn and Jenny are normally at the aerodrome on a Saturday but but both are available for training at other times by arrangement. Anyone wanting more information about learning to fly or wanting to organise a trial lesson should call
Jenny on 02 6342 5228 or 0403 984019 for recrational aircraft
Lyn on 02 6344 8383 or 0429 352984 for General Aviation
